First of all, let me just start by saying that this is not the usual type of story that I read. As you can tell by my username here, I tend to stick to zombie stories and post-apocalyptic type stories. This was recommended to me by a close friend, so I decided to go outside of my normal genres and take a chance. Oh god am I glad I did! :-)***SPOILERS***The first few chapters are very hard to read as they deal with kidnapping and rape. I really had a hard time getting through those first two chapters. After that though, we are shown how Eric became Erika. Sure it started out shocking, but we quickly learn how strong of a young woman that Erika is.She has friends and family that love her deeply, and they will do anything for her. We follow her through her journey as she quickly sheds her old gender identity and blossoms into a beautiful, intelligent, and popular young girl. She overcomes many hardships and never gives up.Also, I normally don't like romance stories, but the way that this author wrote the romance between Erika and her boyfriend had my heart racing as I was reading this story! That is another thing that the author does an amazing job of. They are excellent at being descriptive and developing their characters beautifully. Each character in this story is unique and has their own personality that you grow to love and have an attachment to.My only complaint is that the story ends. I honestly would love to see what is next in life for Erika as she continues to grow as a person.***END SPOILERS***In the end, I LOVED this story! I read through it very quickly, eager to know what was going to happen and following Erika as she grew as a person. Its almost like I was watching a close friend go through all of these trials and tribulations. And honestly, I couldn't be more happy with the way the story turned out.It's amazing and worth reading. Check it out!
